October and November ushers more than Autumn into our lives. The season seems a cultural labyrinthine of multi-cultural celebrations of ghosts, witches, and eerie communications with the dearly departed. Long before Europeans arrived in the New World, the people of Mexico celebrated El Día de los Muertos. This celebration welcomes home spirits of relatives who have died, it is a colorful and joyful event. Halloween on the other hand evolved from the ancient Celtic religion of Ireland. The Celts observed the autumnal celebration of Samhain, which is pronounced sahween.
