Blaine is Alive, Too!!

Summertime in Blaine is a special time!  Blaine's Old Fashion July 4th has become the place to be on Independence Day.  Thousands of visitors fill the downtown to enjoy musical entertainment, a very cool car show, great small town parade and many vendors.

In the evening, the Chamber sponsored fireworks display over Semiahmoo Bay is the best in the County.

The 5th Annual Jazz Festival begins on July 12-18.  Each year an all-star jazz faculty comes to Blaine to teach young musicians the basics of jazz instrumentals and vocals.  Each day a noon, the faculty and students present an outdoor concert on the G-Street plaza.  There are several night performances at the Performing Arts Center.  The week culminates on July 18 with all-day student performances in beautiful downtown Blaine overlooking   Blaine Marina.   Most of the events are free!

A new summer activity, beginning on June 13 and continuing seven more times during the summer, will the Gardener's Market.  The rules are you "make it, bake it or grow it" and that's about it.  Local crafters and gardeners will show and offer their wares on the H Street plaza.

While you're in Blaine, don't forget to ride the historic Plover Ferry which departs from Blaine Harbor and travels to Semiahmoo Resort and back.   Then, visit the wonderful sculpture exhibit in beautiful Peace Arch State Park.  You can even watch as workers give the Peace Arch a face-lift.  If you haven't been to the park lately, you are in for a treat.

So congratulations Bellingham Alive!  And thanks for letting us tell all your readers that Blaine is Alive, too!
